Ecology of campus trees

The University of Utah campus, with over 13,000 trees, serves as the State Arboretum.

The objective of this assignment is for you to explore the wonderful diversity of the 13,000 trees that we have on campus.

You can explore this campus tree diversity using a "Tree tour", developed by Sue Pope, the grounds manager, for the University of Utah. Sue has developed a map of GIS coordinates for all trees on campus, as well as a walking tour you can take that describes 100 different tree species.

You may also click here to download a KMZ file describing these tree species and their locations.

The assignment for the Ecology of campus trees is provided elsewhere on the Canvas page.

Professor Michael Kuhn of Utah State University also lead a tree tour of campus, which you can access through GOOGLE MAPS here.
